Since she uses soybean oil and other natural products, everything that goes into the candles comes from a renewable resource, and also helps to fund American farmers. <BR/><BR/>I've got no problem with Yankee candles. I'm just saying that you can find those everywhere, and everyone has them. But not everyone has a lotion candle. As far as I know, Yankee candles are wondrous things, and I've used them myself. My critique of them isn't their environmentally UNfriendliness, but more the fact that there's nothing novel about them. (In relationships, creativity and effort is important, and these EarthyGlow candles are different than the norm; hence it took more effort to find out about them.)<BR/><BR/>Again, part of how I "know" these things is that the owner is a personal friend of mine, and I wanted to give her a little free advertising. I just burn them in my house. And once I burn them out, I use alcohol to remove the wick & now I've got a jar (with an air-tight lid) to use for whatever I wish.
