I've heard some suggest that this was sarcasm. He sure went on a long time with it. It is quite unlike him to give Obama credit for anything, but I personally have felt that he deserves some in this case. I guess I was optimistic that Rush was willing to be decent, giving some credit when it is due.
It has definitely been ironic how much the left has been celebrating Bin Laden's death, as it happened as a direct result of methods they vehemently opposed. I knew Obama was an ideologue going into office, but I think a desire to succeed forces you to be more pragmatic. Gitmo is still open for business.

You should go to Rush's web site and listen to his monologue called "The President Owes Us an Apology." I think he lays out his reasoning rather well.
